Cellist

Originally from Scotland, Daniel studied with Emma Ferrand (cello) and Naomi Kayayan (piano) at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music. At age 18 he was the youngest winner of the Keldwyth Award and lead cellist in the National Youth Strings Orchestra and won a scholarship to the European String Summer School.

He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music where he took part in masterclasses with Karine Georgian, Ralph Kirshbaum, Rohan De Saram, Miklos Perenyi, Hannah Roberts, Gregor Horsch, and Robert Cohen.

He does work with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra Ireland (formerly the RTÉ) and much more. He has been a part of the orchestral soundtrack for Lenny Abrahamson’s Little Stranger and recorded with Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble Voces8.
